I love cultivating a life that is homemade, heartfelt and simple in our home and inspiring women to do the same. In today’s fast-paced world, the idea of living a homemade, heartfelt, and simple life resonates deeply with so many women looking to bring purpose and peace into their homes. It’s about choosing to slow down, be intentional, and create a space that nurtures yourself and your family.

Let’s get elbow to elbow in the kitchen with our kids. Read instead of scroll screens. Play records instead of Alexa. Plan a day of arts and crafts instead of movie watching and video game playing.
Let’s start somewhere, together.

Here are 10 forgotten skills that I want to encourage you to bring back into your home in the coming year:

  1. Preserving food
  2. Supporting local farmers before the grocery store
  3. Making homemade noodles
  4. Printing out photos
  5. Gifting homemade gifts
  6. Baking bread for your family
  7. Cooking over the campfire
  8. Prepping a pantry so that you may have what you need on hand for easy from scratch meals
  9. Growing your own flowers
  10. Candle making
  11. Writing down recipes
  12. Refererncing print for things before turning to the internet (manuals, recipes, journal entries, etc.)
  13. Writing letters and mailing them to people you love
  14. Sunday dinners together ’round the table
  15. Starting and ending your day by candlelight instead of artificial light
  16. Making birthday cakes homemade instead of buying them
  17. Cooking from scratch
  18. Growing a garden
  19. Learning to sew
  20. Use cast iron

If you desire to serve your family well, wear your apron more, create warm and loving homes and cook more from scratch… that’s exactly what I desire to help you do!

My 10 forgotten skills for the heart of your home is a FREE downloadable guide that encourages you to embrace slow and simple living in the heart of your home by practicing forgotten skills while living in a modern and chaotic world.

I know it will enrich your home like never before. Which one of the skills above are you looking forward to most? Share with me below in the comments!

In your corner,

Amanda
